Setting Money Saving Goals

Have goals can be a great way to help you learn how to save money.Setting money saving goals Unlike the kitten to the right our goals should be something that we can achive on a daily basis.  Start off with something simple, like putting 5 bucks into savings a day.  After going through your daily expenses it should not be too hard to find 5 dollars.  Compound your daily goals into a weekly goal and then a monthly goal.  When you create a weekly and monthly goal try to make them more than just the sum of the parts.  So it you have a goal to save 5 dollars a day make the weekly goal 40 a month.  This will force you to have to come up with 5 extra dollars for the week.

Having achievable stretch goals can give you a huge psychological boost when it comes to learning how to save money.  For me setting goals and seeing that money grow has become a replacement for the desire to spend money.

If you want to think about very long term goals you can setup your retirement account and try to retire 5 years early or maybe 10.  Now that seems like a goal everyone would love to achieve.
